Overview:
The Group Sales Associate is responsible for assisting the day-to-day workflow of Broadway at The National’s group sales initiatives, while supporting long-term strategic efforts in sales and community engagement. This is a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) and reports to the Marketing & Sales Manager. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and distribute outbound communications, establishing relationships with new groups and community organizations
- Foster relationships with existing groups, prioritizing retention from year to year and show to show
- Field inquiries, acting as the first point of contact for groups communications end-to-end and act as customer service representative, addressing patron concerns as needed
- Conduct market research and assist with past group buying analyses
- Assist with tourism initiatives to expand group sales reach into the travel trade
- Create and update groups marketing and sales materials
- Coordinate the successful execution of VIP Group pre-show and post-show receptions
- Assist with building itineraries with community and restaurant partners (as necessary), serving as the go-to for Broadway at The National as a premiere downtown destination
- Participate in other marketing activities as requested, such as staffing opening nights and season launch activities
- Create weekly reports and summaries for marketing and sales staff
Basic qualifications include:
- At least two years relevant administrative, sales, or customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills including both verbal and writing
- Strong customer service skills
- Established knowledge of the local/DC market and performing arts landscape
- Willingness to learn computerized ticketing system
- An enthusiasm for the arts, entertainment, music, and theatre
- Comfort with a fast-paced environment with acute attention to detail is a must
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite

Job Title: Part-time Marketing Associate
The Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting the daily duties of Broadway at The National’s advertising and communication efforts for best-in-class touring Broadway. This is a part-time position reporting to the Marketing Coordinator with an anticipated schedule of 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Track the progress of all advertising plans, monitoring deadlines for various stages of campaigns across all media
- Assist in creative traffic, updating media deadline charts daily
- Monitor traditional media and digital campaigns to assist in weekly reporting
- Monitor website activity, Google analytics, online memberships, and organic social media to assist in monthly reporting
- Assist in website updates and SEO via WordPress
- Maintain marketing department digital and hard filing systems
- Assist in regular invoice tracking, processing, and reconciliation
- Proofread and update presentations, reports, and other marketing materials as needed
Basic qualifications include:
- At least two years relevant administrative experience
- Strong organizational skills with a keen interest for project management
- Established knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- An enthusiasm for the arts, entertainment, music, and theatre
- Comfort with a fast-paced environment with acute attention to detail is a must
